Vice President Defence Market Business Intelligence, Fincantieri
Twenty years at the intersection of corporate strategy, business development and institutional relations — across NATO, EU and international defence markets on 4 continents.
I have built and led strategy functions, commercial pipelines and market intelligence architectures for organisations operating at the frontier of naval defence, autonomous systems and dual-use technologies — with direct accountability for multi-billion programmes across 20 international markets.
My path in this industry is uncommon. It started on the battlefield — two operational deployments with UNIFIL in Lebanon, command of units of 100+ personnel and with NATO in Kosovo — and moved through the highest levels of European military governance, as Strategic Communications Advisor to the Chairman of the EU Military Committee in Brussels. What that trajectory produces is not a profile. It is a way of reading the world: from requirement generation to procurement decision, from geopolitical signal to commercial strategy.
At Fincantieri I founded and lead the Defence Market Business Intelligence function — a first-of-its-kind architecture integrating competitive analysis, geopolitical intelligence and emerging technology scouting into executive-level decision support. Prior to that, I drove international expansion across 5 priority markets, contributing to Group backlog growth from €34B to €51B (+47%) and annual order intake more than doubling to €15.4B.
In 2026 I published Difendere il Futuro (Egea | Bocconi University Press) — a strategic provocation on defence innovation and private capital. Featured in Il Sole 24 Ore, Sky TG24 and Rai News 24.
I engage selectively with leaders and organisations operating at the frontier of this transformation.
